Sydney family mourn loss of dad who died after boxing bout

The grieving family of a Sydney boxer who died after collapsing during a bout say his death could have been prevented.
Father-of-two Davey Browne, 28, was knocked out in the final round of his super featherweight title fight at Ingleburn RSL on Friday night.
Witnesses said he struggled to breathe and suffered seizures after being felled during the contest with fighter Carlo Magali.
His horrified family watched on as paramedics worked to stablise him before he was rushed to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.

He never regained consciousness.
“When he went down, I just saw it," wife Amy Lavelle Brown told 9NEWS.
“It’s an image in my head that’s going to be there for a long time."
His family said the boxer was injured from previous rounds and should never have sought to complete the fight.
“He shouldn’t have gone out after the 11th round,” the fighter's father David Browne Snr said.

Browne made a return to boxing in 2013 after marrying and becoming a father to four-year-old Rocklyn and later Flynn, seven months.
He was preparing for a potential world title fight next year, with the fateful bout meant to propel him into the world's top 15 fighters.
Local boxing stars Billy Dib and Daniel Geale among those to have offered Browne and his family their support.
NSW Sports Minister Stuart Ayres has now ordered a review into what went wrong on Friday night and police will prepare a report for the coroner.
