These Sumo Wrestlers Make Babies Cry It Out For Good Health

Sometimes you just need a good cry while held by a sumo wrestler.

Usually, the last thing a parent wants is to hear the sound of a child crying. However, that wasn't the case in Tokyo this weekend.

New parents gathered at the Irugi Shrine in Tokyo on Sunday to participate in a 400-year-old ritual known as Naki Sumo. During the 'baby-cry sumo,' two wrestlers stand across from one another each carrying a baby, and do their best to make the children cry. The child that wails first, or the one that wails the loudest, in the event that both burst out, wins the competition. The ritual is believed to bring good health to the little ones.
