The Bachelorette Family Dinners (Interviews) Were Super Intense

The Bachelor

That was stressful.

Sam Frost's grilling from Alex's sister Helen was like watching Papa Bear put Goldilocks through a lie detector test about the porridge.

The Bachelorette was none too impressed when Alex surprised her when he revealed Helen would be dropping by for an interview -- just as Sam had been revelling in their alone time.

Helen wanted to know everything. Will Sam move to England? Does Sam want babies? How would Sam let Alex down?

Do. You. Love. My. Brother.

"I can't give it all away at this point," Alex said at the end of the date, after clearly getting an awkward peck.

Helen kind of killed Alex's chill. He'd done so well with the surfing but his sister.

There were no such problems for Michael and Richie, who enjoyed plenty of intimate moments with Sam on their respective dates.

Michael's Dad was super cool in their one-on-one chat, and while Richie's Mum dropped the "would you move away from your family" bomb, Sam did well to shield some point-blank shots from his best mates.

Those laser-eyed-stare mates didn't hold back, and if anyone looked more nervous about it than Sam, it was Richie himself.

Those EYES.

Sam seemed a bit stand-offish at the end of the date, much like she was with Alex. Did Richie's inner circle scare her off a bit?

Enter Sasha. Oldmate really stepped things up and put himself in prime position to stand there at the end.

From an intimate dance with Sam to revealing that he's "falling in love" with her, the big 30-year-old made an obvious impression on The Bachelorette.

"It was one of the most romantic moments I've ever had," Sam said of their dance in the park.

And after Sasha's quasi L-bomb, Sam gushed: "It was exactly what I wanted to hear."

Sasha's family were obviously concerned about their boy. That's fair.

His mum Kim also asked the babies question, to which Sam said she "doesn't have a time frame" and Kim said she was glad to hear that was in "the near future".

No pressure.

Kim also asked about what happened with Blake, and Mum seemed satisfied with the response. Then her brother asked about "the debacle" and how Sam dealt with it. Intense.

Again, Sam handled the interviews like a pro and after a passionate kiss at the door, it's more obvious than ever that Sasha's the frontrunner.

"I don't want to say goodbye to you, this sucks."

Sam revealed before the rose ceremony that two of the boys "really stood out" (Sasha, Michael) and that two "left doubt" in her mind. Alex and Richie.

Michael: Rose.

Sasha: Rose.

Alex.... No Rose.

It's sad goodbye to the "gorgeous, charming, beautiful" Englishman.

Ever classy, Sam tearfully leads him outside and apologises for leaving him out after a "really tough decision". Alex was the perfect gentleman in saying farewell.

Alex handled the letdown like a champ.

Richie is safe. But only just. If we were to hazard a guess, we'd say Sasha is ahead of Michael as the top two contenders, but Richie has a lot of work to do.
