Bible makeover! Scarlett Johansson manages to make the Old Testament sound sexy by doing a very saucy reading of verses that are far from seductive

It is official, this star can make anything sound saucy.

Scarlett Johansson has heavy breathed new life into the Bible for upcoming comedy album, Tasty Radio.

The 30-year-old used her infamously seductive voice to make some of the Old Testament's more unusual and harsh verses sound sexy rather than scary.

The actress - who previously voiced a sexy operating system in film Her and is the voice of snake Kaa in upcoming Jungle Book - joined forces with comedian Mike O'Brien for a track on his album Sexy Bible.

Pretending to be a guest on the fictional station WSEX, Sexy Talk Radio, the star gave her very best breathy reading of verses from the Book of Deuteronomy.

For those who have not brushed up on their Old Testament reading of late, the Book of Deuteronomy includes numerous examples and rules of how to live one's life some of which are very harsh, misogynistic and, as Mike calls, them 'weirdly specific' incidents.

Scarlett first takes on Deuteronomy 21:18-21, somehow saying sexily: 'If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son, his father and his mother shall bring him to the elders of the gate of his town.

'They shall say to the elders, ''This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious,'' then all the men of his town shall stone him to death.'

Sounding like a classic love song dedications DJ, Mike responds: 'Oh s**t that felt sexy. How are you feeling?'

'I'm feeling like maybe we could use a little music,' Scarlett purrs.

The Avengers actress then proves she really can make anything sexy as she reads a verse about a man being allowed to take a prisoner of war he finds attractive as his wife - as long as he shaves her head and trims her nails.

In yet another very specific verse,  the actress keeps in her sexy character as she reads a rule that allows a man to cut off the hand of a woman if she tries to break up a fight between her husband and another man and she touches the husband's 'private parts' in doing so.

While there is nothing sexy about having your son stoned to death or cutting off your wife's hand, that is what former SNL writer Mike says made him want to do the skit and get Scarlett involved.

He told Rolling Stone: 'I've always wanted to do a sketch about the Old Testament, specifically Deuteronomy.

'The Old Testament is filled with beautiful stuff, but also some weirdly specific, random rules and speeches. Deuteronomy could be called Laws for Stuff That Will Never Apply to 99 percent of Civilization, like what to do with a dead animal you find [or] what to do to a woman who grabs the junk of a guy who her husband is fighting.

'I wasn't sure what the comedic take would be when I first became obsessed with Deuteronomy, but I knew a female should be delivering most of it because a lot of the quotes are very misogynistic and who wants to hear a guy make fun of that.

'I was so thrilled that Scarlett said she'd do it.'

The album Tasty Radio will be released October 30 and also features Jason Sudeikis, Fred Armisen, John Mulaney and Seth Meyers.
