A NSW MP has been moved to an undisclosed premises after allegedly being subjected to death threats at a recent branch meeting.

Melanie Gibbons was moved to a reported safe house after she was allegedly threatened at a recent Liberal party branch meeting by a fellow member.

Police told the Huffington Post Australia the threats first emerged more than two weeks ago and a 56 year old man was charged with intimidation offences.

Police could not comment on why Ms Gibbons was moved to another location on Monday.

When the alleged incident was first reported mid-October, it came amid an increasingly heated series of meetings of the Liberal Party's Moorebank branch.

Ms Gibbons has also reportedly sought an AVO after the alleged October 19 incident.
