While some, seemingly rare, people attend the Melbourne Cup for the actual horse racing, a large majority head trackside with little attention to the field and exhausted from the ensemble planning process.

Any racegoer worth their weight in champagne knows that an outfit is not complete without the complementing headwear, which is undoubtedly the linchpin which ties the outfit together.
