A mysterious 000 call alerted emergency services to a woman who was bound and gagged in a home in Glenmore Park, Western Sydney.

A NSW Police spokeswoman told The Huffington Post Australia they were alerted the home by a Triple 0 call about 1.45am and found an unconscious woman, 33.

"We're awaiting medical reports to determine the extent of her injuries," the spokeswoman told HuffPost Australia.

A NSW Ambulance spokeswoman told HuffPost Australia the woman was transported to Nepean Hospital in a serious condition.

At a press conference, Superintendent Brett McFadden confirmed police were investigating the incident and said police believed the attack was targeted.
