As the lead singer of Mumford & Sons, Marcus Mumford has battled nerves to play in front of enormous crowds.

But the anxiety of facing the pace of former Test cricketer Brett Lee was too much for the musician and he accidentally dropped the f-bomb live on the Nine Network’s cricket coverage on Saturday.

Kitted up and waiting for a delivery from Lee, the Englishman let Australia know he wasn’t yet acclimatised to Brisbane heat.

“It’s f---ing hot in here lads,” Mumford said as he waited for the segment on Channel Nine’s Cricket Show to start during the lunch break of the first Test between Australia and New Zealand at the Gabba.

Naturally, social media was excited.

However, Mumford composed himself and actually played some nice strokes against Lee — once the fastest pace bowler in the world.
