Ever thought about cage-diving with sharks? This video might give you some pause.
American man Spencer Reilly captured this terrifying footage of a Great White slamming into cage he was swimming in, its jaws being caught by the cage's metal bars just centimetres from his arms and torso.
Shot from inside the cage, the footage shows a large object, possibly a fish, hurtling toward the cage at great speed with the shark close behind. The pursued object seems to bounce off the cage, before the Great White collides with the cage, its snout and teeth entering the cage through a narrow viewing slit. The shark then itself bounces off and swims away.
Reilly said the video was shot in Gansbaai, South Africa, and was uploaded to Youtube on Sunday.
The ABC reported Reilly was in South Africa on his honeymoon.
Reilly later posted a second clip -- this one, shot from the safety of the boat's deck -- showing the technique the boat operators used to lure sharks close to the diving cage.
