CANBERRA -- The dismissal of the Whitlam Government is not the only 1970s affair being marked on the 11th of November.
The 'Father of the House', Liberal MP Philip Ruddock, who witnessed the dramatic events of 1975 as a young up and coming parliamentarian, has announced he is behind a push to return safari suits to parliament.
The excitement built quickly on social media. Soon the former Chief Government Whip and his political leisure style were trending.
Ruddock’s pledge, to wear a safari suit to federal parliament on the final day of sitting in 2015, is all in the name of charity.
The former Immigration Minister, and Attorney-General is raising money for the Motor Neurone Research.
Ruddock’s early target is $1000 and donations have already begun, so get in quick for this worthy cause.
Fashion, on the other hand, is eternal.
