Baseball Coach Throws Base Into Beer Garden In Epic Tantrum

Watch This Australian Baseball Coach Throw An Epic Tantrum, And A Base

The Australian Baseball League competition is getting some extra attention after the manager of one of its teams threw first an epic tantrum, then threw a base, during a controversial game over the weekend.

A match between the Sydney Blue Sox and the Adelaide Bite in Sydney on Sunday saw a controversial base-running call go against the Blue Sox. The team's manager Jason Pospishil had some -- ahem -- objections over the decision, entering the field and making his case to the umpire.

The Blue Sox manager squared up face-to-face with the umpire, kicking his hat out of frustration then drawing a line in the dirt to illustrate his point.

Pospishil was then officially ejected from the game by the umpire, but even that didn't see the game resume -- the manager then walks over to third base, picking up the white square and tossing it unceremoniously over the fence and into the beer garden.

"He's made the decision, the hat's in the sand, he's going to try and fire these Blue Sox up," the delighted commentator roared.

"The base is going to go, we've seen this before... up and over into the beer garden... manager Pospishil is having a day out here."

For the record, the Blue Sox lost that game 6-3, as well as the second game of the double-header fixture 4-0.

For their part, the Blue Sox seemed pretty amused by the ejection of their manager, posting a link to the incident on Twitter as a form of advertising for their next game:

And the fate of the poor third base? It seems destined to be preserved in team history/infamy:
