A man has died and a 14-year-old boy is in a critical condition following a skydiving accident in New South Wales’ Southern Tablelands region.
Police say emergency services were called to Goulburn Airport just before 2pm on Saturday.
A man died at the scene and a teenager was airlifted to Royal Randwick Hospital for treatment, where he remains in a critical condition.
Police say they believe the pair were tandem skydiving, when they fell out of the air about 20 metres away from the ground.
The Goulburn Post reports that the two were part of a group of four people tandem-skydiving. None of those involved in the incident have been formally identified.
It’s believed the pair were hit by a windshear close to the ground, which sent them into an freefall.
Investigations into the incident are continuing.
