Hello! Bonjour! Ola! Ciao! Guten Tag!
The purpose of World Hello Day, which is celebrated on November 21, is pretty simple. It aims to promote peace all over the world and bridge cultural barriers through communication. Pretty simple message, right?
The day was created in 1973 in response to the conflict between Israel and Egypt and given recent world events, it’s just as relevant today.
It’s pretty easy to get involved. All you’ve got to do is say ‘hello’ to at least 10 people you meet. Sure, family and friends are the easy option, but let the famous hello’s in the video above inspire you to be a little braver. Say ‘hello’ to that guy you always bump into on the train, or the lady who always does the same spin class as you.
Note: You only get a half point for greeting someone who has music blaring through their headphones.
