Controversial rapper Chris Brown won't be heading down under any time soon, it has been confirmed.

Ticketek Australia released a statement on their social media pages on Wednesday morning with the information Brown's December shows, scheduled in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, have all been cancelled.

Complications surrounding Brown's tour arose when the Federal Government declined his visa application in September, widely presumed to be because of his history with domestic violence.

In the statement posted to their Facebook page, Ticketek Australia said both Brown and his promoters were hopeful the 26.-year-old would be able to make the tour happen eventually.

"Mr Brown wishes to express his deepest gratitude to the fans for their support and looks forward to a successful tour in the near future," the statement read.

The ticketing agency then provided details on how concert-goers could obtain a refund.

Despite Brown's visa being rejected way back in September, tickets still went on sale as promoters hoped to overturn the decision.

Tickets to the Sydney concert, due to be held at Allphones Arena on December 14, ranged from $100.93 to $508.73 for a VIP "meet and greet" package.

The rapper has yet to make a comment on his social media accounts in regard to the cancelled tour.
