Waleed Aly Nails Epic Pink Floyd Solo, Wins Gold Walkley For Life

We thought Waleed Aly couldn't get any better at life. We were comfortably wrong.

The Project co-host and Fairfax columnist has been thoroughly on-point in 2015 for his incisive commentary on social issues, particularly his viral monologue on ISIS.

Aly's nomination for a 2015 Walkley didn't culminate in a win at Australian journalism's blue-ribbon awards ceremony on Thursday, but his nomination for winning at life gained considerable momentum with his intimidating musical prowess.

Aly ripped off a note-perfect rendition of Pink Floyd's psychedelic anthem 'Comfortably Numb', because of course he did.

But it was his electrifying solo that's just left the rest of us with an enormous inferiority complex.

Firstly, who even knew he could play the guitar? Secondly, is it even fair that someone of his talent and intellect can be awesome at something else? Thirdly, when did he learn to wield an axe with the authority of Eddie Van Halen and the touch of Eric Clapton?
