On Monday evening The Bachelor’s Sam Wood took to social media to announce his engagement to Snezana Markoski by posting a picture of the couple’s hands entwined revealing a generously sized halo diamond ring.

Wood wrote, “She said YES! When you know, you know. I love you Snezana.”

Minutes later, Markoski followed suit by sharing the same image with the caption, “Happiest Girl in the World #fiance #engaged.”

Wood chose his home state, Tasmania to pop the question where the couple had been holidaying this week with Markoski’s daughter, Eve.

Both Wood and Markoski have been anything but shy with sharing their relationship on social media since the season’s finale in September, with the pair regularly reminding us of how besotted they are with each other.

The Bachelor proved to be a hot topic on Monday night with NSW premier Mike Baird offering his view of the show during an appearance on Channel 10’s The Project.

Co-host Carrie Bickmore grilled Baird about “pretending” not to like the reality show and blaming his daughters for “making” him watch it despite live tweeting throughout the finale earlier this year.

Defending himself, Baird said that it was true he was forced to sit through it.

“I have to say that was the worst piece of television I’ve ever seen in my life,” Baird said.

“I will never ever watch that again, I never will, it’s not good for anyone or anything… My daughters loved it,” Baird.

The Project hosts then took the opportunity to tell Baird he can’t blame his daughters for his taste in pop culture pointing to a selfie Baird shared on social media with his daughter while at Taylor Swift’s concert in November captioned “A great thing about having daughters: you can pretend THEY'RE the reason you are at the Taylor Swift concert.”

However Baird responded saying that’s a very different thing because he likes Taylor Swift.

“No no, very different, I’m very happy to say I like Taylor Swift, I can’t stand the Bachelor,” Baird said.
