Chris Brown Speaks Out After Assault Allegations

"I'm going to be hella rich after all the lawsuits I file."

Chris Brown has broken his silence about the assault allegations that surfaced over the weekend. A woman accused the R&B artist of stealing her phone and hitting her after she tried to take a photograph with him.

The alleged incident took place during a private afterparty early Saturday morning at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. Brown was in town for a New Year's performance at another venue.

"Keeping my circle small in 2016," the 26-year-old singer captioned an Instagram photo of himself staring into the distance. "I'm done taking the care of grown ass men. And I'm going to be hella rich after all the lawsuits I file from these crazy individuals who keep lying on my name. Happy NEW YEAR! Time for some of us to grow the fuck up!"

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, "a crime report has been taken for misdemeanor theft and misdemeanor battery listing Mr. Brown as a suspect." The police also said the woman "appeared to have minor injuries sustained as a result of a battery."

A publicist for the artist vehemently denied the singer's involvement, calling the woman's accusations "unequivocally untrue" and "a complete fabrication" in a statement to The Huffington Post.

In 2009, Brown pleaded guilty to felony assault against his former girlfriend Rihanna. He was also arrested in 2013 for hitting a man who tried to jump into a photo with the singer and a female fan. Brown pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault in the case.
