Downright Disturbing: Game Requiring Users To Kill Aboriginal Australians Removed From App Stores
Fairfax

A mobile application game that allows users to kill indigenous Australians has been promptly removed from app stores, but not before it triggered widespread outrage and a petition for its removal.

Survival Island 3: Australia Story 3D was available from Apple's iTunes App Store and Google Play, but thousands have signed a petition calling for an apology from the app's developer, after screenshots and YouTube videos depicting the game's disturbing content were made available.

According to a screenshot on the Killing Indigenous Australians is not a game! change.org petition launched on Friday night, white men armed with bows and arrows are told to "beware of Aborigines" and must shoot or beat Indigenous people to death to survive and earn points.

A synopsis within the game claimed: "Your goal is to survive... You also have to fight with aboriginals ... It will be an unforgettable experience, so just enjoy!"

Fairfax Media reported it was been unable to verify the app and contacted its developer for comment, while Apple confirmed the app was not available in its App Store and did not want to make any further comment. Google also declined to comment.
