You may know her as Charlotte from Sex And The City, but actress Kristin Davis is a high-profile supporter of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
It's in this capacity that she'll be arriving in Sydney this February to share her experiences in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo and talk about sexual and gender-based violence for a Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Queer Thinking event.
Queer Thinking curator Dino Dimitriadis said the series wasn't afraid to delve into confronting or controversial topics.
“The Queer Thinking series is a keystone Mardi Gras event in provoking discussion about issues important to LGBTQI people and communities, both at home in Australia and abroad,” Dimitriadis said in a statement.
“The 2016 program delves into what 'momentum' can mean to the LGBTQI community and celebrates our diversity without shying away from some of the more difficult conversations."
Davis will speak with National Director of Australia for UNHCR Naomi Steer about preventing and responding to sexual and gender-based violence, especially in conflict settings worldwide on February 12 with tickets going on sale February 1.
