As the couture houses show their new wares on the catwalk in Paris this week, back home in Australia a much more affordable fashion show took place.
Mass retailer Witchery debuted their autumn/winter offering on Thursday night, showcasing a neutral palette with a nod to the 1970s.
"This season sees a collection steeped in 70s nostalgia, yet grounded firm in the now," Linda Levy, Witchery Managing Director told The Huffington Post Australia.
"This coming season is about femininity in masculine tailoring, without compromising comfort for style."
In terms of key pieces, expect to see turtlenecks, wide leg trousers and feminine blouses hitting the stores come February.
"The turtleneck is one of the most fashionable wardrobe foundations this winter. Worn close to the body in iterations of ribbing or soft cashmere, this elevated basic takes A-line skirts and relaxed trouser styles to new heights," Levy said.
"Every girl should have a romantic blouse in her wardrobe this season. Wide leg trousers are made modern in deep navy, and the provocative second-skin boot (ankle or over-the-knee) becomes an essential piece, often juxtaposed against pretty dresses."
So that's the girls sorted, but what about the men?
"This season sees the integration of modern sportswear influences into timeless menswear," Levy said.
"The cooler season calls for smart, yet functional, hybrid garments such as hooded knitwear, woven joggers or quilted shirts. Too warm for a coat, too cold for a t-shirt? Easy layering pieces will take men through the temperature transition."
