Megan Gale will join the judging panel of Australia’s Next Top Model replacing her friend, Charlotte Dawson, who tragically died by suicide two years ago.

The Foxtel series announced on Wednesday that Gale will be joining the tenth season as a permanent judge.

The subscription network chose not to replace Dawson last season, instead going with a different guest judge each week.

Gale has featured on the show in the past for various challenges and was a guest judge last season.

The 40-year-old said she does not see the appointment as replacing Dawson. Rather, she would bring her own form of guidance while Dawson’s legacy would live on.

"I don't see it as replacing Charlotte. I don't think she can be replaced. To say I am replacing her doesn't honour her. She is irreplaceable,” Gale told The Sydney Morning Herald.

Gale, a mother-of-one, had a close relationship with Dawson and paid tribute to her following Dawson's memorial service in 2014.
