A group of farmers in Victoria have taken a herd mentality to an anti-gas protest.
Quite literally.
Using 2000 sheep, 1.6 tonnes of grain and a drone, a group of farmers spelled out the words "Ban Gas" to tell the Victorian State Government it does not want an onshore gas industry, the Weekly Times Now reports.
Mal Rowe, who farms near Hamilton, said he spent close to two weeks training the sheep for the photo.
“We were very relieved that the sheep did what they were meant to,” Mr Rowe told the paper, adding he hoped the protest would be heard by politicians on Spring St.
“The risks to the environment, to agriculture, to human health and social harmony are deemed to be too great."
But with the words spaced so closely together, the internet, well, did its thing:
There is currently a moratorium on all onshore gas exploration and extraction in Victoria.
The Herald Sun reports the state Government is expected to announce a new policy on onshore gas midyear.
