If you needed any more proof that Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen are the coolest couple in Hollywood, look no further than Monday’s Oscars ceremony.
The pair fooled the Academy by defying its request that Cohen refrain from presenting alongside Olivia Wilde as his alter ego, Ali G.
While he didn’t go the full hog (Cohen opted for a tux over his usual yellow jacket) he revealed that his wife, Fisher helped to smuggle the beard, glasses and hat past Oscars producers.
"The Oscars sat me down beforehand and said they didn't want me to do anything out of order; they wanted me to actually just present it as myself," Cohen told ITV's Good Morning Britain.
But Ali G had other plans.
So how did it all go down?
Olivia appeared just a little surprised at her fellow presenter's costume change.
His wife, Fisher helped him to fake a bout of food poisoning before fleeing for what would become a 40-minute costume change.
"Luckily my wife put on the Ali G beard in the disabled toilets and I managed to get away with it. What would I do without her?" Cohen said.
Admitting he was a bit nervous about the whole thing, Cohen said getting the go ahead from Chris Rock backstage was the push he needed.
"I was a bit worried how they'd react to the first gag but I bumped into Chris Rock on the way on and pitched him the gig and he gave me the thumbs up, so I went for it," Cohen said.
