These Polyamorous People Want You To Know What Their Lives Are Really Like

"We are finally allowing people to, rightfully so, define themselves."

A new campaign aims to break down stigma, educate the public about and fight for the acceptance of polyamorous relationships.

From the website OpenMinded comes the #AcceptLove campaign, an initiative focused on equality for polyamorous people. The leaders of the campaign see acceptance for poly relationships as the next frontier of mainstream queer liberation.

"This moment will be remembered in history (if not for the complete destigmatization, then) for making great strides in acceptance for LGBT relationships and individuals," Angela Jacob Bermudo, a spokesperson for Openminded, told The Huffington Post. "We are finally allowing people to, rightfully so, define themselves. If we can accept that a man can love a man, and vice versa for women, why then is it so difficult to wrap our minds around the concept of loving more than one person?"

The campaign is still in its early stages and while the current promotional videos only feature polyamorous relationships involving a single man and multiple women, Bermudo told HuffPost that the company plans to elevate lives and stories across the spectrum of poly identity.

"These two interviews are simply the first round of videos," Bermudo continued.
"We plan to release more, which show various combinations [of people involved in polyamorous relationships]. We are planning to do so for the second series of videos, as well as other combinations."
