She’s best known for her role as Jenna Marshall on the hit teen drama, Pretty Little Liars, and on Wednesday Tammin Sursok shared an inspiring message of hope and self-love for her fans.

Posting to Instagram, the mother-of-one uploaded a photograph of her younger self writing, “For all of you being bullied out there. This is me. Growing up I was overweight and spent most of my adolescence being bullied because of it.”

She continued, “I definitely wasn't the popular girl but it didn't define me. You can be ANYTHING you want to be in your life. It's your choice which path you take.”

“Don't let other people's words give you your self worth. You are beautiful. I was beautiful. It just took me a long time to love myself.#thisisbeautiful,”Sursok wrote.

As a cast member of a show that broke the record for the most tweeted premiere, her fans no doubt make up a huge part of the pop culture conversation.

With more than 248 comments, Sursok’s post clearly struck a chord and comes two days after revealing plans to launch her own blog in May.

In an earlier post, she invites fans to send through an image of themselves and a sentence about why they think they’re beautiful, which will be featured on her blog as part of her “This Is Beautiful” campaign.

“Let’s change the conversation of beauty. Let’s empower ourselves and start to feel beautiful from the inside out,” Sursok wrote.

Sursok got her start in acting on the Aussie soap, Home and Away where she played the character of Dani Sutherland, before moving to Los Angeles to further her career.

There she landed the Pretty Little Liars role and met her producer husband, Sean McEwen. The couple have one daughter together.
