A woman has been charged with attempted murder after she allegedly drove her vehicle into her seven-year-old son at a park on the NSW south coast, police say.
Police will allege in court that the 39-year-old woman's vehicle struck the boy twice as he walked in Corrigans Beach Reserve at Batehaven, just south of Batemans Bay, on Monday afternoon.
A NSW Police spokeswoman said the woman was driving her vehicle near the reserve about 3pm when she allegedly drove into the reserve where her son was walking and "struck him with her car, twice".
Witnesses at the park helped the boy, who suffered a suspected fractured collarbone. He was taken to Batemans Bay Hospital for treatment.
Police arrested the woman at the park and took her to Batemans Bay Police Station for questioning.
She was charged with attempted murder, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and driving a motor vehicle furiously causing bodily harm.
She was refused police bail, and is due to appear in Bega Local Court on Tuesday.
