Melbourne Cup Winner Michelle Payne Rushed To Hospital Following Fall

Horse racing hero Michelle Payne has been taken to hospital following a fall during a race at Mildura in Victoria on Monday.

The Melbourne Cup winning jockey fell from her horse, Dutch Courage, after it reportedly clipped the heels of another mare.

Medics immediately attended to Payne, who was conscious, before taking her to Mildura Base Hospital for observation.

She was reported to have full movement in her limbs, but with some abdominal pain.

It was reported Payne would remain in hospital overnight despite being cleared of any serious injury.

Payne later thanked her followers for their "well wishes" on Twitter on Monday night.
