No one does politics quite like Lady Gaga does politics.
The singer showed her support for Hillary Clinton, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, on Tuesday by sporting a patriotic one-piece. Gaga posed alongside a guitar on a patterned couch, putting her stars-and-stripes suit on full display.
"#HILLARY2016 Nothing can keep a strong woman down," Gaga captioned her photo. "VOTE for the first female US president in history. Shake it up America, this country needs a little rock n' roll. 🇺🇸🙏🏽🤘🏽"
Gaga and Clinton have long been supportive of each other. The former secretary of state recently penned an essay in Billboard praising the "Applause" singer and other strong women who are shaking up the music industry.
“My hope is that women and girls around the world will hear these artists’ songs, learn their stories and feel a greater sense of possibility for their own lives. Maybe they’ll recognize themselves in these women," Clinton wrote. "Maybe they’ll stand a little straighter or speak a little louder because that’s what Gaga and Missy and Brittany and Tori and Selena and Demi and Kelsea and Lana and Ally and Normani and Lauren and Camilla and Dinah and Loretta would do."
In addition to Gaga, Clinton has the support of many in the music industry behind her, including Ellie Goulding, Ariana Grande, Carole King, Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry and more.
