It's no surprise luxury labels have rated well in a ranking of Asia's most trusted brands.
After all, despite a recent dip, the luxury fashion market has steadily grown in places like China and to a lesser extent, India, spurred on by the emergence of a new middle class.
Marketing group Campaign Asia-Pacific and insights provider Nielsen collaborated on Asia's Top 1000 Brands project, and while Samsung topped the list, luxury fashion labels weren't far behind.
Luxury labels in order of trustworthiness
1. Chanel -- overall rank: 9
2. Gucci -- overall rank: 14
3. Calvin Klein -- overall rank: 22
4. Dior -- overall rank: 35
5. Giorgio Armani -- overall rank: 37
6. Louis Vuitton -- overall rank: 43
7. Rolex -- overall rank: 53
8. Burberry -- overall rank: 70
9. Prada -- overall rank: 73
10. Tiffany and Co -- overall rank: 84
11. Bvlgari -- overall rank: 85
12. Cartier -- overall rank: 87
The survey asked the question: "Which is the best brand that comes to your mind? By best, we mean the one that you trust the most or the one that has the best reputation."
The 6,400 survey respondents were from China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam and also Australia.
