A man armed with a handgun who barricaded himself inside a house in Karalee in southeast Queensland has been taken into custody.
The siege ended peacefully with the man led away in handcuffs, according to media reports.
Queensland Police had been locked in a stand-off with the man after declaring an emergency situation at the residence in the Ipswich suburb on Monday afternoon.

Earlier, a Queensland police spokesman told The Huffington Post Australia that the man was thought to be armed with a handgun.
He said the standoff started just before 3pm Monday and that police negotiators were sent to the scene.
An exclusion zone was set up between First Ave and Bendemeer St, south to the Bremer River.
