Kristen Stewart opened up about her personal life in a new interview this week, revealing that she is “so much happier” dating women ― publicly confirming the rampant rumors about her sexuality for the first time.

The big moment happened during an interview with Elle UK when the “Twilight” star spoke about her relationship with girlfriend Alicia Cargile and her journey to being more open in how they define themselves together.

Stewart, who was formerly linked to “Twilight” co-star Robert Pattinson, told Elle UK that she felt the need to hide everything she did when she was dating men “because everything personal felt like it was immediately trivialized... We were turned into these characters and placed into this ridiculous comic book, and I was like, ‘That’s mine. You’re making my relationship something that it’s not.’ I didn’t like that.”

Stewart told Elle UK that when she began dating women, she worried keeping her personal life hidden communicated that she was ashamed of the nature of her relationships.

“It changed when I started dating a girl,” she continued. “I was like, ‘Actually, to hide this provides the implication that I’m not down with it or I’m ashamed of it, so I had to alter how I approached being in public. It opened my life up and I’m so much happier.’”

When previously questioned about her relationship with Cargile, Stewart declined to define her sexuality. However, she did insinuate that the stories swirling around their relationship were correct, telling inquisitive minds toGoogle me, I’m not hiding.”

In the Elle UK interview, Stewart also states that she is incredibly happy in her current relationship with Cargile. “I think also right now I’m just really in love with my girlfriend,” she says. “We’ve broken up a couple of times and gotten back together, and this time I was like, ‘Finally, I can feel again.’”

We’re so happy for you, KStew.
