If you’re looking to gain more from yoga, don’t skip the basics.

Savasana, a restorative pose that’s often performed at the end of a yoga class, is probably one of the most underrated moves in the practice. Many people breeze through it after they’ve completed their active moves or forgo it entirely.

As instructor Jules Mitchell points out in the Udaya video above, passing up the pose is doing a disservice to yourself. Why? Because the move helps reset your mind and puts you in a state of relaxation. And isn’t that a focal point of a yoga practice?

Take a look at the video above to learn how to properly do Savasana and make a conscious effort to commit to it the next time you do a yoga routine. Trust us, you won’t regret it.
