As far as days of the week go, Mondays are ordinarily pretty uneventful.

Though Brisbanites today are blessed with Chris Hemsworth on their pretty streets as he films scenes for the upcoming Marvel film, Thor. Oh, and let's not forget Tom Hiddleston -- he's there, too.

Part of Brisbane city will be closed to create scenes for the movie that are based in NYC. The rest of the film is reportedly based in space, so we're guessing that'll be be filmed in studio.

ABC producer Patrick Williams has captured the commotion on Twitter.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads Queensland announced road closures in relation to the filming on Friday.

The film isn't due to be released until November 2017. Thor: Ragnarok will be the 17th film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which started in 2008 with Iron Man.

Anyone in Brisbane need to go for a walk at lunch time?
