James Corden Joins Coldplay On Stage, Sings Tribute To Prince

The Carpool Karaoke host sang 'Nothing compares 2 U' and it was magic.

When you are James Corden and it happens to be your birthday, well, you get to do as you please.

Case in point: The Late Late Show host, who celebrated his 38th birthday on Sunday night, joined Coldplay on stage at their Pasadena show on Monday to pay tribute to Prince with a rendition of Nothing Compares 2 U.

Speaking to an audience of more than 50, 000 at Padadena's Rose Bowl, Corden revealed it was after Chris Martin heard him singing the love song that he invited him to join the band on stage for a duet.

"I'll be honest, I didn't know how big it was when I said, 'Yes,'" Corden said.

The crowd was no ordinary one either, with celebrities including Reese Witherspoon, Suki Waterhouse and Matt Damon in attendance.

"I'm a little nervous, but thanks to the four of you on behalf of this audience for this incredible night that you have given us all," Corden said before breaking into harmony.

The fun didn't stop there. After Corden's belter performance, Martin and the band proceeded to sing "Happy Birthday" the Late Late Show host.
