There are many things that signal Spring's arrival -- ditching your flannel pyjamas, a busier social calendar and of course, the apprehensive return to some kind of fitness routine.

Ah yes -- fitness, remember that? Hint: it's basically the opposite to your Netflix-and-chips habit.

The good news is you don't need to sign up to a gym or become the latest member of a crossfit cult to get started. Nope, the great outdoors holds the key to all your exercise needs.

"Training outdoors is far more beneficial than slugging it out at a crowded gym," Lauren Hannaford, a_space ambassador and former elite gymnast told The Huffington Post Australia.

Not only does it offer a great physical workout but being outside in the fresh air is going to add an element of mindfulness to your training that's not possible indoors.
