Twerking Nigerian Shot Putter Is Best Rio Paralympics Thing Yet

It sure twerked wonders for her.

Shame ballet's not a Paralympic sport because she'd win that too.

Well if you've got it, you might as well shake it. And work it, and twerk it and totally berserk it.

Lauritta Onye of Nigeria was already a shot put champion. But when she broke her own world record and won gold in the T40 class at the Rio 2016 Paralympics, she got a little excited. As in very excited. As in, multiple cartwheels excited, repeated twirling excited, boogieing and flag waving excited. And then twerking excited.

*FACT: Green shot puts go further. *Not even close to a real fact.

Australia's Paralympic broadcaster Channel 7 (Two) captured her in all her glory.

Onye had a really good day. Her first throw of 7.83m broke the world record, which was 7.72m. Her second and third throws were not bad either at 7.54m and 7.64m respectively. Her fourth throw? It just about went out of the park. Well, not quite, but the 8.40m heave was a beauty.

OMG, did I really just do that?

Nigeria has now won seven gold medals at the Rio Paralympics, the same number as Australia. It sits seventh on the medal table. And first on the celebrations tally.

She wins at sportsmanship too.
