The Cronulla Sharks are through to the NRL grand final and their home turf is taking finals fever to the next level.

The Sutherland Shire is being taken over as Cronulla fans find weird and wonderful ways to show commitment to their team.

There are signs, jerseys, memes and flags galore. These fans are really, really creative.

One die-hard fan has even painted his house blue, black and white to show support for their local team.

The Sharks have never won a premiership, despite being in the competition for 49 years, so this is a pretty major deal.

One fan has posted to the Facebook group Cronulla Sharks to Win a Premiership before I die creating the hashtag #TurnOnYourPorchLights.

He's encouraging others to get behind it, to "support the boys" as there's "only a few sleeps until the big dance".

Even radio host Kyle Sandilands has got involved, saying he'll splash $10,000 on an open bar at popular Cronulla spot, the Northies Hotel IF the Sharks win.

Cronulla fans have also changed the traditional viking clap into a shark clap -- which we can expect to see in full swing at the decider on Sunday.
