A Humpback Whale Helps Its Mother To Freedom Off Queensland Beach

This way, Mum!

A humpback whale and its calf were spotted off a beach in North Stradbroke Island in Queensland on Friday morning.

The pair had gotten stuck on a sandbank around 7:30am, according to 9 News.

The calf was filmed nudging its mother as they tried to free her from the sandbank.

The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Services (QPWS) were on hand to monitor the whales. But as the tide rose, the whales freed themselves and swam off into deeper water around 8:10am.
