Trump's 'p***y' comments were 'a victory for women', apparently.

Sky News does a good job of filling its 24-hour a day live broadcast, hosting agenda-setting interviews with politicians, experts and commentators that often shape the news conversation.

But sometimes on live, 24-hour television, things get a little weird. Like Monday night, when commentator Ross Cameron stripped off his business shirt, revealed a Trump-Pence tee, and donned a 'Make America Great Again' cap before telling the panel -- including host Janine Perrett -- that Trump's "grab them by the p***y" comments were a "victory for women".

Really.

Cameron, a former federal Liberal MP, is a regular Sky commentator and panellist. Last night, on the PM On Air program with Paul Murray, conversation turned to the U.S. election.

"I respond to this tsunami of sanctimony which we are getting from the greatest bunch of hypocrites who ever walked or breathed... I am exactly where I was, but even stronger," Cameron said on Monday, unbuttoning his white dress shirt to reveal a Trump t-shirt.

It got weirder. As captured by journalist and radio host Ben Fordham, Cameron weighed in on Trump's 2005 comments about women which have sparked a massive wave of controversy and criticism for the Republican nominee this week. You'll want to keep an eye on Perrett, and her perplexed, confused facial expressions.

"I'm saying to you that this is a victory for women. The Trump conversation, what it tells you, is that in the private moment, at the end of the day, when the bloke is sitting down with his mates, what his mind turns to is the female of the species," Cameron said.

The "female of the species". Let that sink in for a moment.

Perrett looked on, eyes narrowed. She turns to someone out of shot, as if she can't quite believe what she's hearing.

"The female is the celestial body around which the male orbits. She is the wiki to which the male will always, in the end, return."

Perrett closes her eyes and shakes her head.

"She is the dominant figure in human history. The rise and fall of civilisations may be renamed, 'who gets the girl?' "

The camera cuts to former Labor powerbroker Graham Richardson, similarly perplexed and staring at Cameron.

It's quite a piece of footage. You can listen to the full conversation on the Sky News podcast -- check out the Paul Murray Live podcast for Monday for the segment.

Cameron, for his part, has defended himself, and not backed down. He tweeted soon after:

Incidentally, Cameron subscribes to the conspiracy theory that Hillary Clinton wears a colostomy bag:
