The girlfriend of Lindt Cafe Siege gunman Man Haron Monis has been found guilty of murdering the self-styled cleric's ex-wife in 2013.

NSW Supreme Court heard Amirah Droudis, 37, was "brianwashed" by Monis to kill his ex-wife, who was brutally stabbed, doused in fuel and set on fire in a western Sydney apartment block.

Justice Peter Johnson said he believed Droudis was motivated by a desire to be with Monis.

"This was no cold-blooded murder. This was a hot-bloodied and frenzied murder by an enraged female attacker," Johnson said, as reported in the Sydney Morning Herald.

Monis was due to face court charged with being an accessory before and after the fact to murder but was shot dead after he held the Lindt Cafe hostage in 2014.
