As supporters of Hillary Clinton, still reeling from her failed presidential bid, walked past the Democratâs former Brooklyn, New York, headquarters Thursday night, they came across a heartwarming and heartbreaking scene.
Kids sitting on the sidewalk were writing messages of love and thanks to the Democratic nominee.
On the concrete, a rainbow of chalky words spelled âThank you!â and âHillary is lovedâ and âKeep up the good work!â
After losing the presidential election, Clinton told her supporters Wednesday that they owe President-elect Donald Trump âan open mind and chance to lead.â She called her history-making candidacy, which marked the first time a woman was the presidential nominee for a major U.S. political party, âone of the greatest honorsâ of her life.
âTo all the little girls watching this,â she said during Wednesdayâs speech, ânever doubt that you are powerful and valuable and deserving of every chance in the world.â
Bittersweetness and tears seemed to be the theme of the tweets responding to the kidsâ display of support outside of Clintonâs headquarters.
