Police have found the body of a 9-year-old boy who went missing after a jet ski accident in outback Queensland.
Authorities had been searching for the youngster following the jet ski crash at Lake Moondarra near Mount Isa on Saturday.
On Sunday morning, police said divers located the body of the boy about 6am.
The tragedy unfolded about 11am Saturday when a 34-year-old man and a 6-year-old boy were riding a jet-ski at Lake Moondarra that drove into the edge of the lake, hitting the 9-year-old boy.
The man and the 6-year-old boy both sustained injuries and were transported to hospital, while an extensive search was launched for the 9-year-old.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash, with authorities saying it was not yet clear how the incident occurred.
"We believe the water craft was being ridden at very high speed, the exact circumstances of how it collided with the bank and struck the boy we don't know," Queensland Police Superintendent Kev Guteridge told the ABC.
