Beau Ryan Just Answered A Facebook Callout To Fulfil Girl's Dying Wish As She Fights Cancer

Two Facebook posts, one two-hour trip, three big grins.
Mahalia Murphy

In the true workings of a modern day fairytale, NRL personality Beau Ryan has fulfilled a girl's dying wish, travelling two hours on a Tuesday night to visit her in hospital after her friend posted a Facebook status.

Women's rugby sevens star Mahalia Murphy posted an "urgent request" to her Facebook friends on Tuesday night, urging her mates to share the post or get in contact with Greg Inglis or Beau Ryan. Her friend had "roughly four hours to live" and was in the Prince of Wales Hospital fighting cancer.

Beau Ryan or Greg Inglis would make those hours better.

Within half an hour, Ryan had replied telling Murphy he was en route from Shellharbour, which is more than 100 kilometres south of the Sydney-based hospital.

And the proof was in another Facebook post, three hours later. Ryan sat by the girl's bedside, both donning big grins.

If that doesn't make your Tuesday, we don't know what will. Onya Ryan.
