RIP Kia Lettice.

Kia Lettice has died of ovarian cancer in hospital. She was 22.

The Sydney woman made national headlines last week when her friend Mahalia Murphy put out a call on social media to Lettice's two favourite NRL players, Greg Inglis (of the Rabbitohs) and Beau Ryan, a Footy Show fan favourite who retired from the NRL in 2014.

The call went out at 6:52pm last Tuesday.

Inglis was in Queensland on holiday at the time, but Ryan was a little closer to Sydney, in Shellharbour, nearly two hours south in the southern suburbs of Wollongong. To everybody's surprise -- not least Kia Lettice's -- he responded to the call to come visit.

He notified the world at 7:32pm, 40 minutes after the initial callout, and was soon at Lettice's bedside.

Lettice was reportedly in and out of consciousness over the weekend, and is said to have died peacefully. Mahalia Murphy posted this touching post on Sunday night.

In another post she described the visit by Ryan as "a priceless moment for my girl".
