Ronda Rousey Proves 'Strong Is Beautiful' In The Most Kick-Ass Advert Of 2016

In 2016 weā€™re still told that men should be ā€œstrongā€ and women should be ā€œfeminineā€, but MMA fighter Ronda Rousey is calling bullshit.

In a new ad campaign for Pantene, the 29-year-old shows off her talents to prove ā€œstrong is beautifulā€.

ā€œDonā€™t hate me because Iā€™m strong, strong is beautiful. Iā€™m not one without the other,ā€ she says.

ā€œPeople call me ā€˜Miss Manā€™, they call me ā€˜savageā€™, but if you think fierce canā€™t be feminine, Iā€™m about to show you what only a strong woman can do.ā€

In a second ad for the campaign, Rousey admits making it in the male-dominated world of MMA hasnā€™t been easy.

ā€œGrowing up, I was in a lot of environments where I was the only girl,ā€ she says.

ā€œTo keep me from being nervous, my mum would always tell me: ā€˜It doesnā€™t matter if youā€™re the only girl, you have a right to be there.ā€™ā€

This isnā€™t the first time Rousey has encouraged women to get active and celebrate strength.

Sheā€™s used her massive audience on social media to create the hashtag #RouseyRevolution, which celebrates young female fighters.

Girls training can post photos or videos of themselves in action is all their sweaty, red-faced glory, to encourage a culture of body positivity.

Rousey has also inadvertently started the DNB movement, which encourages women to not be a ā€œdo nothing bitchā€.

ā€œWomen without ambition are being glorified, and itā€™s sad, and weā€™re taking steps backward, and thereā€™s a lot of women out there that are very frustrated about it, but they had no real term for it,ā€ she previously told The Huffington Post UK.

ā€œI had no idea I was coining a term in that moment, but I guess, I wasnā€™t the only person with that thought on my mind, and thatā€™s why it took off.ā€
