There's always a chance Monopoly could lead to an argument.

It causes fights, turns friends against each other and people into cheats. No I'm not talking about love, lust or even money, I'm talking about Monopoly. But fear not, there's now a place we can get help.

Monopoly has set up a helpline that will run from the 24th to the 26th of December, aiming to settle those disputes over rules that have the potential to ruin Christmas, the Sun reports.

According to the paper a survey of 2,000 adults found a massive 51% of Monopoly matches end is disputes and the common grievance is people making up the rules as they go along closely followed by people getting too cocky when they're winning (GUILTY).

Hasbro UK & Ireland commissioned the research and their Marketing Director Craig Wilkins said that although a family fun game, their research found that some friends and family members stop at nothing to win, leaving the game to end in chaos.

The research also showed the extent of the arguments, with one parent saying her 14-year-old son threw a board across the room, slammed the door and went to bed at 7pm, Metro reports.

"Our hotline will be open from 24th – 26th December, when families will be able to call 0800 689 4903 and get mediation on any game-based arguments," he said.

"We'll have experts on hand with the official rulebooks to instantly settle any disputes, and advise on how to resolve common complaints." Oh, what a world we live in.
