New South Wales Tries To Keep Cool As A Heatwave Burns Through The State

Feeling hot, hot, hot.

As 2016 draws to a close, New South Wales is sweltering through a heatwave and people are doing everything they can to keep cool in the scorching weather.

Temperatures in Sydney are forecast to stay above 30C until we ring in the year and with many people off work, Australians have little other choice than to find some water ASAP.

The Bureau of Meteorology describes a heatwave as "three or more days of high maximum and minimum temperatures that are unusual for that location" and authorities are warning NSW residents to take precautions in the sweltering conditions.

From backyard pools to Bondi Beach, these pictures exemplify just how people in New South Wales are beating the heat these holidays.
