Just an average Sunday arvo.

Portion control is clearly not among this snake's 2017 resolutions.

The huge python was found chowing down on an entire wallaby on New Year's Day.

The photos were snapped by Bernie Worsfold in Kuranda, Queensland, and shared by 7News on Twitter.

Speaking to the ABC, Worsfold said it happened in the middle of his paddock and that this sighting was particularly out of the ordinary.

"There it was rolling around, this huge wallaby and python," Worlsfold told the ABC.

"It was an amazing sight.

"I didn't watch it all. I went away to make a cup of tea but came back every hour."

The incident comes just days after a three and a half metre crocodile was found in Karumba, in Queensland's far north. Queensland police say the croc "swaggered" up the street and into the backyard of a house.

Officers and locals created a line of wheelie bins in an attempt to funnel him back towards the water.

Officers then made the large scale decision to box him in with hay bales and contain him until wildlife experts from Cairns arrived to relocate him.
