Another year, another reason to be terrified of Australia as this time a video has emerged showing that even snakes are capable of turning on one another.
Brisbane snake catchers, Sally and Norman Hill, posted a video to their business N&S Snake Catchers' Facebook page showing an eastern brown snake eating a carpet python.
"We've never seen something like this before, it's very rare any snake catcher gets an opportunity to witness something like this," she told the ABC.
"We just put him into the bag, if you disturb them too much they'll regurgitate their meal and it's just a waste," Hall said.
According to ABC, the pair even stuck round the clients house for "a few hours" after to let the brown snake finish its delicious meal. How very considerate of them.
On the pair's website it says they've been providing fast and professional licensed snake catching services since 2015 with 26 years' experience with snakes in the reptile field.
"Don't stress, our friendly snake catchers are available 24 hours 7 days a week for snake removal and relocation," the website explains.
In the wild, eastern brown snakes eat a variety of vertebrates which include frogs, reptiles eggs, birds mammals, particularly introduced rats and mice, according to the Australian Museum.
"In captivity, they are known to be cannibalistic, especially so in over-crowded conditions, and may prey on snakes of almost similar size," the Australian Museum said.
This isn't the first time a snake's eating habits have made headlines, a huge python was caught chowing down a wallaby on New Year's Day.
