A One Nation candidate has offered his resignation to the party following a series of controversial posts on his website.
Pauline Hanson is yet to decide whether to accept the resignation of Queensland candidate Peter Rogers after a blog post on his website claimed the drowning death of three-year-old Syrian refugee, Aylan Kurdi, and Tasmania's Port Arthur massacre, were fabricated.
In a statement issued by Hanson's office, Rogers said the post wasn't written by him and as written by an administrator who handled the blog while he was on a six-week overseas trip.
"While I was not personally responsible for all the content that appeared in the post, I am ultimately responsible for all of the content that appeared in the post, I am ultimately responsible for allowing this situation to occur," he said in the statement.
"I hope that by taking responsibility for my actions the way I have, I can at least set an example to others. Queensland needs people who are willing to take responsibility and do the right thing."
The One Nation executive will review the comments and assess Rogers' future candidacy, the statement said.
The blog post, entitled 'The Drowned Boy, The Lie That Changed The World', suggested that "the whole photo thing was fabricated".
"As it turns out this kid was alive and well," the blog said.
The same post also said Australia's worst ever mass shooting, the 1996 Port Arthur massacre, was a "fabricated incident", and even suggests that Tony Abbott was somehow a party to his own ousting by Malcolm Turnbull.
Earlier, Hanson told the ABC Rogers was out of the country and "out of his own stupidity he allowed someone to control his website."
Last week One Nation candidate Shan Ju Lin stepped down after she made controversial comments likening homosexuals to 'patients' on social media.
